5 July 2017 – On 4 July, Telespazio VEGA UK, together with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), hosted a drinks evening at RUSI’s headquarters in Whitehall, London.
The event, which is called Space Happy Hour, was attended by approximately 60 senior representatives of the UK Ministry of Defence, UK government agencies including Innovate UK and the UK Space Agency, as well as representatives from the UK’s leading Space companies including Inmarsat, QinetiQ, TAS, Lockheed Martin and SSTL.
The event is modelled on a similar event held in the USA. It is held quarterly and provides a great opportunity to network and discuss the issues and opportunities facing the UK space and defence industry in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Each industrial organisation takes its turn at hosting, so as to share the cost and also to add variety to the venue’s location.
Our event was held in the RUSI Library of Military History which contains a unique literary collection of national historical and cultural importance, the perfect venue to stimulate discussions over a glass of wine.
